Since I met the amazingly talented Alisa Tongg and was introduced to her beautiful venue Promise Ridge, I’ve been dreaming of filming a wedding here! I’d get married there myself if I wasn't the kind of person who didn't over invite a million people to every event I host, also I guess having a fiancé or even a date might help (don’t worry Dad, I’m working on it)
Fast forward to October 11, 2020 my dream was finally a reality when I had the pleasure of telling Alina + Kyle’s love story! We had so much fun with them posing beside the Appalachian Trail with all the beautiful autumn colors in the background. There were lots of tears (some of them being my own, I mean did you hear their vows?) and even more laughter! I'm pretty sure Alina's cheeks were hurting by the end of the day!
Alina is the kind of person that puts you at ease right away, I think we get along because she’s a big sap like me! She had a smile on her face all day and the laughter never ended (even when she was in tears)
Kyle is the strong silent type, and he’s really good at making Alina laugh! (that actually may not be too hard to do, but I’m ok with that!)
The view from Promise Ridge is breathtaking! There isn’t a single nook on the premises where you can’t get an epic shot! It makes my job as a filmmaker easy that’s for sure! So much heart is put into every detail, from the string lights and living wall in the ceremony space to the mirrors in the Pavilion that reflect the gorgeous mountain side you can enjoy while sipping on a cocktail.
It was such a fun and beautiful day with these two and their families! It’s so obvious how much Alina and Kyle are loved. It’s hard as a videographer not to fall in love with your couples, you spend the best day of their lives with them and hear all the sweet things people have to say about them! So you can rest assured that I am completely and utterly in love with them!
I love how Alisa (the officiant/owner of Promise Ridge) tells the story of how they met and started dating by the request of their parents! Alina is definitely a word smith! I had a hard time not putting ALL of her vows in the film! I get all choked up, without fail, every time I hear her say “After our first date my mind would repeat soft and sure, you might marry this man, and here we are.” Doesn’t that just tug at your heart strings?
